This year's flu outbreak is already 4 times worse than last year's

Now might not be a great time to start reading "The Stand." Although the nationwide flu outbreak isn't quite what Stephen King wrote about in his apocalyptic bestseller, emergency rooms and hospitals in 41 states are struggling to treat infected patients. According to the Center for Disease Control, four times as many people have been treated during this flu season compared to last year's, and 18 children have already died from the virus. Despite those scary-sounding numbers, the CDC said this year's flu shot is a good match for H3N2, this season's dominant strain. Whew. Just as long as it's not "Project Blue." [Source]
