Foam parties at clubs set off a stream of ER visits

6/9/2012

It's summer time, and you know what that means: foam parties! Time to hit a club full of hot, sweaty strangers and mounds of bubbles that coat you and everyone else in a big pulsing, soapy, sticky communal bath of foam. Unfortunately, the slippery surfaces, dancing and alcohol are leading to a surge of visits to the emergency room in the US and Europe. Foam can also lead to nausea, and it's not unprecedented for vomit to mix with the stew of juices marinating the partying crowd. We're going to throw a Purell party between our hands right now from that thought.
