Ford debuts bigger, angrier version of the F-150 at Detroit Auto Show

1/18/2013

Ford set its phasers on maximum wow for its presentation at the Detroit Auto Show, lowering the Atlas concept from a ceiling in front of a mammoth, backlit tableau of fake steelworkers laboring on fake steel beams. Ford says the concept points to the design direction of the next iteration of the brand's hugely popular F-150 pickup truck and is likely due to the market within two years. Expect a hyper-masculine, jacked-up look: The Atlas boasts a menacing chrome grille and aggressively squared-off corners; its wheelbase expands 6 inches, and 7 inches are added to the length.
