Former NFL kicker allegedly grabs taunting kid by throat
5/25/2012Mike Vanderjagt retired as one of the most accurate kickers in NFL history. He did, however, have one notable miss, shanking a potential game-tying field goal for the Colts during a playoff game against Pittsburgh in 2006. Six years later, that kick is haunting him again. Now a part-time coach at a Florida middle school, Vanderjagt could lose his job after allegedly grabbing a student by the throat when the boy taunted him with (inaccurate) chants of "Wide left! Wide left!" Vanderjagt won't face criminal charges, and he and the boy have reportedly exchanged apologies. The school's principal will decide whether he'll keep his job.
Should he lose his job?
