Former wrestler seeks fortune in crap under your outhouse
3/21/2012Ric Savage used to wrestle under the nickname "Heavy Metal," which was more about his taste in intro music, and not just because he liked to smack opponents with folding chairs. But now it refers to his second career hosting "American Digger" on SpikeTV and his search for the treasure he says is under your outhouse. No, he's not talking about that filling you may have inadvertently swallowed, but bottles and other discarded junk. "Yesterday's crap are today's artifacts," Savage told the Huffington Post in an artfully turned phrase. Metal detecting may be good, clean fun to him, but his show has real archaeologists up in arms, not to mention the occasional farmer with a shotgun. Heavy metal, indeed.
