Copycat France approves gay marriage measure

11/7/2012

You know you’re superchic when chic France is following in your footsteps. Just one day after same-sex marriage laws passed in Maine and Maryland, the French Cabinet approved a measure making gay marriage A-OK there — it’s still up for debate in the French legislature, but boy, do we feel like trendsetters. President Francois Hollande took a page from Obama’s book, advocating the issue a la mode, and in a  familiar cry, conservatives hailed the move as the end of civilization as we know it. One French senator called it "an enormous danger to the nation" and the "end of the family." Hmm, that rings a bell, too. [Source]
