Man survives 2-country chase at 125 mph after gas pedal gets stuck
2/14/2013On his way to the grocery store, a poor French guy inadvertantly ended up leading police on a wild chase across two countries. On Saturday, Franck Lecerf got into his Renault Laguna 3 and headed for the store. But the car went haywire on the freeway, its speed dial getting stuck at 60 mph before shooting up to 125 and getting stuck there when he tried to brake. As Lecerf freaked out and swerved through traffic, he managed to call the police and explain his situation. Realizing the only option was letting him run out of gas, police escorted him for 125 miles into neighboring Belgium, where he managed to swerve into a ditch. Lecerf has filed a legal complaint against the car company. [Source]
