FrankieElizabeth Staiti wants to go to school, but the 5-year-old has been banned from her New York kindergarten class. Staiti hasn't had the chicken pox vaccine, so the school board says she can't return to her classroom. According to frustrated mom Elizabeth Wagner, the girl's pediatrician won't jab FrankieElizabeth with the vaccine, which contains a weakened version of the virus, because she has a 14-week-old baby sister. Adding to the already complex situation, Elizabeth worries that her infant daughter inherited her own autoimmune disorder, which would make it even more dangerous if the baby was exposed to chicken pox at all. "I'm not willing to take that chance with my newborn," she said. And the school isn't willing to take a chance on FrankieElizabeth, either. [Source]
