Group demands school take down portrait of Jesus

It's the picture that sparked a thousand debates. Or at least feels that way. The debate over the separation between church and state at one Ohio school started over a painting — a portrait of Jesus that has hung over the entrance of Jackson Middle School since 1947. No one seemed to mind until the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based organization, received a complaint, and demanded the portrait be removed. But the town's school board refused, saying the portrait did not violate federal law because the picture had "historical significance." The foundation said it would consider legal action if the portrait remained hanging. [Source]
