Group demands school take down portrait of Jesus

It's the picture that sparked a thousand debates. Or at least feels that way. The debate over the separation between church and state at one Ohio school started over a painting — a portrait of Jesus that has hung over the entrance of Jackson Middle School since 1947. No one seemed to mind until the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based organization, received a complaint, and demanded the portrait be removed. But the town's school board refused, saying the portrait did not violate federal law because the picture had "historical significance."
