Didn't you hear? Houses with garages are now totally lame

Having a house with a garage is sooo last generation. New census information shows that the number of houses being built without garages went from 8 percent in 2004 to 13 percent in 2011. But as it turns out, that's what people want. Stephen Melman of the National Association of Home Builders says Baby Boomers whose kids are leaving the nest and Millennials concerned about the environment and saving money are opting out of garages and carports as part of a desire for a more urban lifestyle.
