Gator nearly devours dopey scientist for lunch

5/17/2012

When this monster alligator was discovered a little too close to the highway in North Carolina, scientists from a local aquarium jumped into action to remove it. It appears, though, that their scientific training didn't include dealing with territorial reptiles. After putting a towel over the gator's eyes, one scientist oh-so-carefully put his hands on the creature's back. It isn't clear what the brainiac was expecting to happen, but what he got was a snapping jawful of teeth as the gator nearly devoured his arm for lunch. Police arrived before any other incidents could arise -- or maybe the scientists just got a clue that they shouldn't manhandle unless they're pros in the Panhandle.
