Gay bar bans bachelorette parties for rubbing in marriage

West Hollywood gay bar The Abbey has welcomed movie stars, presidential candidates and customers of all sexual orientations. But owner David Cooley has announced that, until same-sex marriage is legalized nationwide, certain patrons will be unwelcome: specifically, straight women who flock to the club for bachelorette parties to enjoy its male go-go dancers. Such celebrations are "a slap in the face" to gay customers who can't celebrate legal marriages of their own, Cooley says.

Twitter response to the bachelorette ban is mixed -- and, in some cases, a little mixed up. "I don't think I've ever been to a Bachelorette party at The Abbey," writes one Tweep. "Now I'm worried that's weird."
