Sorry, 'average Americans': Gay people manage cash better than you do
12/6/2012Listen up, event planners in same-sex-marriage-approved states: According to a poll conducted by Prudential, gay people are far better at managing their cash than average Americans. Not only do LGBT respondents boast average annual earnings of $61,500, which surpasses the national median of $50,054, they're also more likely to have a job, with an unemployment rate hovering at 7.0 percent (the national rate is 7.9 percent). The study also found that gay people have socked away an average of $6,000 more than most Americans. Plus, with debt levels that are about $4,000 lower, they’ll have plenty of room to max out credit cards on lavish weddings. [Source]
