Gen Y job-seekers would rather work at a startup
8/28/2012In contrast to their parents who cherished job security, today's young job-seekers would rather work for a shaky startup than turn wheels for corporate America, according to a new study. The report by software provider PayScale, Inc., found that Gen Y workers, defined as job-seekers aged 18 to 29, prefer smaller firms with greater flexibility where they can use their entrepreneurial skills and not be chided for using social media. Currently, 47 percent of "millennials" work for small companies with less than 100 employees, while just 23 percent are at big businesses with over 1,500 workers. The rest fall somewhere in the middle. [Source]
