John Allen, who succeeded Petraeus as commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan and was nominated to become NATO Supreme Allied Commander, is being investigated for inappropriate communication with Jill Kelley, the woman that Petraeus' sidepiece, Paula Broadwell, allegedly harassed. Investigators have discovered 20,000 to 30,000 pages of correspondence between Allen and Kelley, both married to other people.
