Stephanopoulos mistakes NBA star for Morgan Freeman at inauguration
1/21/2013It's easy to confuse Oscar winner Morgan Freeman with Hall of Fame NBA player Bill Russell. Wait, no it isn't. Russell stands nearly 6 feet 10 inches tall and looks nothing like the actor from "The Shawshank Redemption" and the "Batman" trilogy. Yet ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos managed to confuse the two when Russell was shown attending President Obama's inauguration. "That’s Morgan Freeman, I think," Stephanopoulos said, then quickly corrected himself, thanking co-host David Remnick for being able to mentally process facial features and accurately identify the human behind them. Step it up, George — it's gonna be a long day.
