Free-for-all rush for raining money looks exactly like you'd expect

10/7/2012

Georgia State's football team struggles to lure fans to the cavernous Georgia Dome. So why not pay people to come? OK, that's not precisely the tactic the school used Saturday, but close enough. And its $10,000 halftime money drop produced the predictable images of human mice scurrying after crumbles of cheese, including a couple of nice takedowns. In the end, the Panthers sold exactly 55 more tickets than they did the game before, and the 10 grand could have paid each of the 9,531 fans a buck with cash left over. Meanwhile, a 44-21 loss to New Hampshire dropped the Panthers to 0-6. Maybe they need to suit up some of these sure-handed fans.
