France has one more chance to extract cash from tax-fleeing Depardieu
1/8/2013France would be wise to embrace their last chance to extract cash from tax-fleeing millionaire actor Gerard Depardieu. He was arrested in November for crashing a scooter while drunk and has already fessed up. The charge carries a maximum fine of almost $6,000. Given the fact he was spotted partying in Switzerland the night before his court appearance, it seems unlikely he'll make it, a development likely to result in heavier punishment. The guy's rich, so jail's probably not an option — even in France — but it provides an excellent opportunity for the government to get at his wallet one last time before he goes full Russian.
