Dingoes that mauled tourist go free without even a smack on the nose

7/31/2012

Two dingoes that savagely attacked a German tourist on Fraser Island off the coast of northern Australia will live to maul another day. The 23-year-old holidaymaker had become disoriented and "fallen asleep" on a track away from his campsite. He was then chewed up by two wild dogs, resulting in injuries to his head, legs and eye, and a fractured arm. Local authorities have decided not to kill any of the many dingoes on the island after the victim was unable to identify the animals responsible. Maybe the guy just got scared of reprisals and froze at the line-up. [Source]
