Germany sets yet another solar power world record

7/5/2012

Still basking in the glory of being the first nation on Earth to derive half of its energy needs from the sun for a day, Germany has melted a new solar energy record. In the first six months of this year, the Fatherland has shot 14.7 TWh of solar energy (4.5 percent of total) into das national power grid. That's a lot of sustainably bubbly foot spas! The record achieved by the 1.2 million solar plants owned by individuals and business across the country represents a 50 percent increase on last year's figures. Wunderbar!
