Giant eyeball chooses a Florida beach as the perfect place to wash up
10/12/2012People enjoying an early fall day on a beach north Fort Lauderdale, Fla., got the unappetizing treat of a lifetime when a softball-size eyeball washed up on the shore. Officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Research Institute have put the giant peeper on ice so they can analyze it and try to determine what kind of animal it came from. And while they don't know for sure, they're operating off of the crazy hunch that it came from some kind of marine animal, since it was found on a beach. Right now a giant squid or a whale are the top candidates, but we're holding out for something more unusual. [Source]
