Girl, 10, freed from closet, weighed only 32 pounds

A Missouri mom is under arrest after her malnourished 10-year-old daughter, weighing only 32 pounds, was found locked in a urine-soaked closet. The 29-year-old mom had two other daughters who were properly nourished and healthy and happy, according to neighbors. The emaciated child told authorities that she wasn't allowed to accompany her family places because she peed on herself, and her mom would "punch her on her back real hard." Authorities say the mom admitted she knew her eldest daughter was malnourished and feared she'd get in trouble if someone saw her, Kansas City station KCTV5 reported.
