Order for 6,000 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies turns out to be mean hoax
3/18/2013People: Please stop doing cruel things to Girl Scouts and their cookies! In the wake of recent cookie destruction and thefts comes news of a heartless cookie hoax played on two Oregon troops. A woman claiming to be from a local company ordered 6,000 boxes of cookies worth $24,000. Only after the girls put aside 500 cases of cookies and asked for payment did they learn the company had no knowledge of the order. But Girl Scouts really are prepared for anything: The troops held a sale at their Portland headquarters on Saturday, managing to offload half the boxes of cookies and earn a sweet $12,000. [Source]
