'Give my son a job and I'll give you free beer'
6/27/2012An Australian father is taking a hands-on approach to his son's unemployment. Paul McVeigh of Mackay, in the state of Queensland, is offering a year's supply of beer to anyone who gives his son a job. McVeigh has been helping his son Nick in his search for employment as an apprentice electrician, but so far they've had no luck. Resourceful Paul has now placed an ad offering "free beer" for a year: "Fifty cartons in exchange for electrical apprenticeship for my 19-year-old son." If we were Nick, at this point we'd be negotiating a side deal -- if he finds a job without any help, the beer bonus is his. To be shared with his dad, of course.
