'Go, Granny, go!' 100-year-old woman goes parasailing
5/17/2012When Edith Pittenger was 90, she promised her grandsons she'd go parasailing with them when she was 100. True to her word, the daring centenarian took to the skies, reaching 400 feet and being dunked twice. "It was lots more fun than I expected," she said. Edith, who has four great-great-grandchildren, enjoys a thrill, having previously clocked up a few hot laps at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway back when she was 96. A longtime Indy 500 fan, Edith said reaching 180 mph at the Brickyard was great fun, adding there's already family talk about her next adventure, which might involve an airplane. Some people just don't believe in slowing down.
