Golfers, birders, and mail carriers have cause for (low-impact) celebration in the wake of a study done by the BMJ (formerly the British Medical Journal), suggesting that low cardiovascular intensity activities may be just as beneficial in terms of health and longevity as high cardiovascular intensity activities. Though it's too early to go out and tackle your endurance-running loved ones for the sake of their health, these findings add weight to the growing evidence of possible health risks related to prolonged high intensity exercise.
