Goodwill staffers find $14K in box of Christmas decorations
5/11/2012A man pulled up in at a Goodwill Store in St. Louis on Tuesday and unloaded from his trailer a few boxes, including one filled with Christmas decorations. It seemed a routine donation -- until workers opened that Christmas box and found $14,505 in cash inside. Store manager Tina Wells recalled calling her boss to say, "Oh my God. I have money. I found a lot of money." Goodwill officials say they are certain the money was accidentally left and are holding it for 30 days; if it goes unclaimed it will be donated to programs that Goodwill supports. They think perhaps a relative died or it got tossed out during spring cleaning. But maybe the mystery man did it to earn his angel wings.
Do you think the money was donated on purpose?
