GOP holding 'We Built It' night in publically-funded arena

The Republican National Committee has announced that its theme for the second night of next week’s GOP convention is “We Built It.” That, of course, is a dig at President Obama’s “You didn’t build that” comment. RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said the theme “will remind America that we are a nation made great not by Washington,” but by the entrepreneurial spirit of folks who “achieve their dreams within the free enterprise system.” That’s nice, but the venue hosting the convention? Very much made by Washington -- the Tampa Bay Times Forum was built largely with government cash, with 62 percent of the funds coming from public money. [Source]
