7-foot-plus Englishman is officially 'too tall to be cremated'

2/28/2013

Brit Graham Mellor wore a size 15 shoe and had to have his clothes custom-made, because, at 7 feet 2 inches, he was Staffordshire's tallest man. This honor extends even into the next world, apparently: Graham's relatives face a 70-mile round trip to a neighboring town because Staffordshire's funeral parlor can't accommodate Mellor’s 7-foot-9-inch coffin in its cremator. Mellor’s cousin Sharon Edwards remains philosophical: "It is nobody’s fault. ... His height was always a bit of a burden to him. ... It was a bit frightening but he had a heart of gold." Here’s hoping the beds in the hereafter are king-size — he's earned it. [Source]
