Grammar app keeps you from looking like an idiot

When we were young, we were schooled in participles and punctuation from "Schoolhouse Rock" videos. Those were the poor man's version of the high-tech NoRedInk, a grammar app that strives to ensure you'll never mix up "their," "they're" and "there" again. Developed by high school English teacher Jeff Scheur, the free Web app creates grammar quizzes for students and keeps track of their progress online. One Mashable commenter thinks we shouldn't rely on technology for our syntax needs, saying, "We live in a social media and mobile society in which Twitter's 140 character limit and text messaging ... are forcing younger generations to skimp on English best practices." For everyone else who thinks the etymological innovation is "cool": Your [sic] welcome.
