Music teachers can start clearing a spot on the mantel for a Grammy

2/8/2013

From the About Time Department comes the welcome news that the Grammys will honor those blessed souls who expand the musical horizons of kids pounding out "Chopsticks" on the piano. Not in time for Sunday's awards, alas, and not up on the stage with Adele and the Foo Fighters, but in a day-before ceremony starting in 2014. Teachers from kindergarten through college are eligible for the award, and nominations can be made by students and colleagues online. Which means there's at least a fighting chance the honor will go to a real life Mr. Holland and not whoever helps Justin Bieber warm up his vocal chords. [Source]
