92-year-old woman inspires us with dreamy final flight2/22/2013
Color us inspired — in a rainbow of hues. YouTuber Holly Ellis recalls that six weeks before her 92-year-old grandmother Dorothy died, she startled her family with a final wish. Dorothy wanted to fly over her Kansas home in a parachute. At that point, Dorothy figured she had nothing to lose, so why not? With help from Dorothy's hospice nurse, the family made it happen. An uncle captured it on video, and Ellis set the whole thing to Israel "Iz" Kamakawiwo'ole's "Over the Rainbow." (A perfect song choice: Dorothy, Kansas … you get it.) The smile on Dorothy's face after the ride of a lifetime is incredibly uplifting. May we all look back in our last weeks and feel we've left no adventure undone, no dream unrealized. [Source]
