Granny thwarts robbers by hurling mangoes at them

This is one of those "we couldn't make this up" stories. On Friday, in New Bedford, Mass., an 80-year-old woman managed to (rather successfully) fight off lethally armed robbers by hurling mangoes at them, one after the other. Watch in the video as the thieves enter and point a gun at the clerk, swiping cash from the register. They are almost in the clear until about 0:20, when the fruit-wielding granny emerges from a corner and starts hurling her tropical weaponry their way. Although one foe thwacks her on the head with the pistol on the way out, her son-in-law later chased them down and managed to tackle one. The thief was arrested and the elderly woman was back to work by Sunday. [Source]
