Britain's unemployed won't be overlooked by Big Brother anymore
12/20/2012It's one thing to feel like The Man is checking on your every move in the cube farm, but now it's getting harder to hide even among the unemployed masses. Starting in January, Great Britain's jobless must seek work through a new Universal Jobmatch website or risk losing their benefits. But the hookup will also allow cookies to monitor their activities, tracking the number of job searches and noting whether they're rejecting viable offers. "If they're just not playing ball, they will be in front of the (job) adviser," warned Iain Duncan Smith of Work and Pensions. Or if all they're doing is playing ball, it seems. [Source]
