Marine Band says Beyonce may have sung, but the band was prerecorded

The Beyoncé national anthem controversy refuses to go away. Just hours after United States Marine Band spokeswoman Master Sgt. Kristin DuBois said that the singer had made a last-minute decision to use a pre-recorded vocal track, another Marine Corps spokesman is backing off the claim. Capt. Gregory Wolf said that because there was no opportunity for Beyoncé to rehearse with the band, a pre-recorded version of the song was used instead of live music. Wolf, however, didn't explicitly say Beyoncé sang her part live, adding that "no one in the Marine Band is in a position to assess whether it was live or pre-recorded." Beyoncé has not yet responded to the varying reports.
