Amazing photo shows seawater flooding Ground Zero

Of all the photos of the flooding in New York City in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, this one showing seawater cascading into the construction site at Ground Zero has to be one of the most incredible. The image started going viral on Twitter around the same time New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg confirmed in a press conference that the storm surge in the city was slightly higher than expected. He added that the surge was expected to recede by midnight, and cautioned residents to stay off the street.
