Grown man arrested for alleged cheap Lego scam
5/22/2012Legos are still fun to play with even when you're fully grown, but surely not so fun they're worth getting arrested over? Police hit California resident Thomas Langenbach with burglary charges for allegedly sticking fake bar codes on boxes of Legos so he could buy them at steeply discounted prices. Langenbach is 47, well out of Lego's usual age range, and works as vice president of a Silicon Valley software giant, so you'd assume his toy purchases would fall inside his budget. Although police say Langenbach offloaded $30,000 worth of stolen Legos via eBay, he didn't resell his entire booty. "He obviously enjoyed Legos on a personal basis because there were constructed Lego sets all around [his] house," claimed a police spokeswoman.
