Chinese 14-year-old is youngest golfer to qualify for the Masters

11/5/2012

Middle school sports are usually pretty uneventful, since most kids that age haven't developed real athletic ability or a mind for strategy. But not Guan Tianlang; this 14-year old Chinese golfer won an amateur competition in his home country by one stroke, becoming the youngest competitior to ever qualify for the Masters. Tianlang will travel to Augusta, Ga., to face off against the likes of Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods (positively ancient at 23 and 36, respectively). "I'm really excited," said Guan after the win. "I don't know what's going to happen there, but I know I just want to do well.'' [Source]
