Gunman on University of Connecticut campus commits suicide

An armed man who prompted the evacuation of the University of Connecticut’s Avery Point Campus in Groton has committed suicide, according to local reports. The campus was cleared late Monday after a gunman was reported in the vicinity, and an emergency alert was posted on the school’s website saying the campus was evacuated until further notice.
