Guy in Stormtrooper suit treks 3,100 miles for kids' charity
4/11/2012The Force is strong in Jacob French, a 21-year-old who walked across Australia to raise money for a children's charity while wearing a full Stormtrooper costume. The longtime "Star Wars" fan covered 3,100 miles between Perth and Sydney and raised almost $100,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation during his nine-month "Troopertrek." French stopped along the way to visit hospitalized kids and to take pictures with stunned locals.
"I just got this Forrest Gump idea in my head that I could walk across Australia," French said. "I thought I could do that and give people a laugh along the way." Like any loyal "Star Wars" fans, we're already looking forward to the sequel.
How impressive is French's feat?
