Hairy eyeball tumor didn't impair man's vision, only everyone else's

1/4/2013

Limbal dermoids are about as unsightly as they sound: skin tissue that can sprout hair, cartilage and even sweat glands. So you'd want to get rid of them in any case, but especially if you'd been reminded of it every time you blinked for the past 19 years. That’s why even though the tumor this Iranian man was born with on his eyeball was painless, he chose to have it removed through laser surgery at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. But even with the quarter-inch-in-diameter mass gone, his vision hasn't improved: He still suffers from lazy eye and an astigmatism. Plus, he probably feels a little naked without his lifelong hairy pal. [Source]
