Guy kicked out of college for trying to help now sitting pretty

1/22/2013

No good deed goes unpunished; if life gives you lemons, make lemonade, and David beat Goliath. The living embodiment of these overused truisms is Ahmed Al-Khabaz, formerly a computer science student at Dawson College in Montreal, Canada. When he stumbled upon and investigated a major security flaw in the school's website and told the college, they kicked him out, failed him, and forced him to return thousands of dollars in student aid. Further, Skytech Communications, the company responsible for the school's website threatened legal action. In the face of a backlash when the story broke, Skytech has since offered Al-Kahabaz a job and a scholarship — at another institution. [Source]
