Harrods opens gender-neutral toy department, kids say 'Buy me stuff'

8/6/2012

Once upon a time, boys sought out toy cars and girls asked for toy babies. But that was soooo your parents’ toy store. In London, the Harrods department store has created a children’s paradise where a child's consumerist urges are no longer bound by outdated notions of what boys and girls want. Behold the gender-neutral toy department, where relatively expensive playthings are arranged according to theme. An enchanted forest here, a circus big top there, and a sweet shop to tempt kids of all ages and sexes. We always thought candy was just candy, but we do appreciate this sweet gesture. [Source]
