Legendary Western movie actor Harry Carey Jr. dies at 91
12/29/2012Harry Carey Jr., one of the quintessential Western movie character actors, died Thursday of natural causes; he was 91. Carey appeared as a supporting actor in more than 90 films over the course of his career. He had roles in 11 films alongside John Wayne, nine films by classic Western director John Ford and a variety of popular Western TV shows in the 1960s and '70s, including "Bonanza," "Gunsmoke" and "Wagon Train." Carey also worked with John Ford on propaganda films during World War II. Some of his last film credits include the sci-fi comedy "Back to the Future Part III" in 1990 and "Tombstone" in 1993.
