Bittersweet 'Stairway to Heaven' cover moves Robert Plant's Heart
12/28/2012Some songs should never be covered — and Led Zeppelin's seminal hair-rock ballad "Stairway to Heaven" usually belongs at the top of the list. However, even the grizzled rock gods themselves are clearly moved during Heart's rousing rendition at the Kennedy Center Honors on December 2. Complete with orchestra, choir and a president nodding in the audience, it's undeniably fabulous and you can almost feel the love and memories fill the room. If you don't get a chill when the choir kicks in at 4:20 and Robert Plant's eyes well up, you might want to consider a soul transplant. [Source]
