Man whose wife has Stage 3 cancer makes $20,000 half-court shot
3/6/2013During Tuesday night's Los Angeles Lakers-Oklahoma City Thunder game, Thunder fan Heath Kufahl made a half-court shot between the third and fourth quarters. The crowd — and Kufahl — went nuts. Pretty cool, right? But what made the moment lump-in-the-throat great is that very few people in the arena needed that $20,000 prize more. Kufahl, who is a high school volleyball and basketball coach, has seven kids and his wife, Jenni, was diagnosed last October with Stage 3 colon cancer. The money netted by Kufahl's shot will go towards paying his wife’s medical bills. Yeah, someone’s cutting onions around us, too. [Source]
