Hebrew National hot dogs aren’t kosher, lawsuit alleges
6/20/2012For many years, ConAgra has promoted Hebrew National meat products with the proud slogan, "We answer to a higher authority." Now, they could be answering to lawyers. Hebrew National consumers are suing ConAgra, claiming the food-producing giant is using nonkosher beef that it gets from its supplier, AER. Not only are Hebrew National's hot dogs not cutting the mustard, but the complaint filed in Minnesota by 11 consumers alleges that ConAgra is knowingly mislabeling products with the Triangle-K logo in order to jack-up prices. Oy vey! A ConAgra rep said, "We stand behind the quality of Hebrew National and its kosher status."
