Boxer Hector Camacho dies after being taken off life support
11/24/2012Three-time world champion Puerto Rican boxer Hector "Macho" Camacho has died after being taken off life support. Camacho had been clinically brain dead since being shot in the head while sitting in a car during a drive-by shooting outside of San Juan on Tuesday. Camacho competed for three decades, a remarkably long career for boxing, and was known for his speed and flamboyance while battling to championships in the lightweight and junior lightweight divisions. Though personal and legal troubles had already begun to plague him, he fought until 2010 and later eked out a short career in reality TV. [Source]
