Former champ Hector 'Macho' Camacho shot, may be paralyzed
11/21/2012Former world champion boxer Hector "Macho" Camacho is in serious but stable condition after being shot in the face in Puerto Rico. He was sitting in a car in the city of Bayamon when an unknown assailant shot both Camacho and his passenger, a 50-year-old man who died from his injuries. Although it was initially reported that Camacho had suffered a brain injury, doctors at San Juan's Centro Medico hospital say that the bullet went through his jaw, exited his head and shattered two vertebrae. There is a chance, they said, that he will be paralyzed. “Camacho's condition is extremely delicate,'' Dr. Ernesto Torres said. ''His physical condition will help him but we will see.'' [Source]
