Helmet cams let you watch firefighting very close-up
3/27/2012Our mothers collectively told us never to play with fire, but when firefighters don heat-resistant "helmet cams," the general public is able to get up close to the dangers these heroes face daily. In this clip, firefighters douse an interior fire in a two-story building, capturing their battle against the blaze with a Fire Cam Mini HD as the walls crumble to ash before them. The unit only withstands temperatures up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit for short periods of time, but this four-minute video is more than enough to underscore the inherent perils.
Post your perspective on seeing a live fire so up-close.
